Humane Approach

I don't know a whole lot about livestock.

But the advice 'don't name something you plan to eat' has always made sense to me. Because, really, who is going to be able to eat a pet? And enjoy it?

Taking that idea one step further you have those who say 'I don't eat anything that has a face'.

Well. I don't have that problem. Unless it's a fish and the face is still there when they serve it.

Which is not at all where I intended to go with this.

At long last, the luck for those face-avoiders has turned.

The Peeps people have covered the Peeps' little faces with chocolate.

Bon appetite,

Did it have a mother? If not, I think you're safe.

My grandfather once named a little steer he was raising Ribeye. I was young enough that I didn't have a clue. And that little steer grew and grew as I hand fed him cattle cubes. I would brush him and brush him. Later they told me that they just sold him and used the cash to buy meat. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. No way I ate that steer. None. Never happened. And I think all peeps are orphans, so if you can't see their face for the chocolate..... I wonder though, what is the cholesterol content? My last count wasn't too hot.
